Happy Monday Everybody!
Hope you've all had an amazing week! How did you all go with your challenge this week? I hope you took the opportunity this week to be in the hands of the Saviour!
Today we went for another hike! It was so awesome! BUT Sister Roos left her cord at home hahhahaha so she can't send y'all any of the cool photos from this week! So next week will be chocka block with photos!
Moroni 7:48 (read 45-48)
"Wherefore, my beloved brethren, pray unto the Father with all the energy of heart, that ye may be filled with this love, which he hath bestowed upon all who are true followers of his Son, Jesus Christ; that ye may become the sons [and daughters] of God; that when he shall appear we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is; that we may have this hope; that we may be purified even as he is pure. Amen."
CHARITY!
Charity is one of my favourite attributes of Christ (they all are my favourite but this is a really good one). Charity is the pure love of Christ. It is a gift from God! And I love this verse because it says that charity will be bestowed upon TRUE FOLLOWERS of his Son, Jesus Christ.
Are you a true follower of Christ? We can develop the gift of charity through sincere efforts to emulate the Saviour! The full measure of this gift is bestowed upon us by God as we earnestly seek it in prayer! By implanting in our hearts the pure love of Christ, we are more likely to EMBRACE the godlike attribute of charity!
As we develop charity, you will see others as children of God with the POTENTIAL of BECOMING like our Heavenly Father! You will be patient with them. You will help them. You will avoid negative feelings and thoughts towards them! You will LOVE them!
This week my invitation to you all is to strive to be a true follower of Christ! See those around you as Christ would - with their potential of becoming! I promise that as you do this and you sincerely and prayerfully seek for it - that you will be bestowed with the gift of charity and you will be more like our Saviour - who is our perfect example!
